Dit paviljoen met zwemvijver in de tuin van een villa in Ulvenhout is met precisie ingepast in een spits toelopende hoek van de kavel. De diepte van deze hoek is gebruikt om het programma met een sauna, doucheruimte en berging onder te brengen.
Het volume oogt daardoor eenvoudiger dan het daadwerkelijk is. De riante overkapping met haard richt zich op de tuin en de zwemvijver. Er is bewust voor gekozen om het paviljoen te laten verspringen ten opzichte van de symmetrie-as van de zwemvijver. Zo ontstaat ruimte om aan alle kanten rondom het zwembad te lopen, over afwisselend het gazon, de terrassen en de grindvelden. De houtconstructie van het paviljoen is afgewerkt in wit stucwerk en houten latten, in samenhang met de architectonische expressie van de villa.
Instead of a swimming pool with an automatic filter system and chlorine installation, a conscious choice was made for a swimming pond with a natural lava rock filter. The water is led through the filter part with a simple pump. Both parts are separated by a row of step tiles over the water. The dark finish of the bottom and side walls ensures faster heating of the water by the sun. The pond is there for swimming, but also attracts a specific ecosystem of water plants, birds, fish, frogs and insects. Together with the comfort of the pavilion - out of the wind, in the shade or by the fireplace in the evening - the ensemble thus offers real added value for the garden and the villa.
